Sometime during the last quarter of 2019, I came across a crowd funder for The Spring London. What drew me to the brand was that it was created by a black woman with a focus on wellness through ethical products.
‘My vision for The Spring is to create an oasis in the city. A beautifully designed wellness centre, where you can buy ethical self-care products, socialise and enjoy the events on offer. A space where black women’s self-care & wellbeing is at the centre. It’s important to prioritise wellness from a holistic standpoint. Quality hair products that won’t harm our bodies or the environment is important but self-care extends to mind and body wellness and access to the right information. That’s why we’re building a wellness directory for Black women based in the UK and expanding into ethical skincare, hygiene products and more. I want The Spring to become the hub for all the incredible talent leading the way in ethical Black hair care, skincare and wellbeing, run by knowledgeable people providing the best service.’
I decided to donate and in return I would receive a box of goodies. I’ve written about this in the past but I think it’s so important to support the things that you care about. Not just with words but through actions too.
Weeks after donating I was notified that the final goal had been achieved and that I would be receiving my box in the weeks to come.
The box I received contained an array of products: rose quartz face roller, a morning journal, organic tampons, face oil, a soy candle, a bamboo toothbrush and more.
I feel like the items are perfect for self-care whilst also aligning with the brands vision.
