What you can expect?

It’s a little bit late for happy new year as the month is almost over. But I haven’t posted in almost 2 months so I guess I should say, welcome back!

Since I’ve been gone, I’ve been planning a bit of a site refresh with regard to what I want to offer through this site. If you’ve been here a while you’ll notice I’ve changed the categories. I picked career, shopping, fashion and blogging which i think gives a clear indication of what you can expect.

I’ll be writing about my experiences of working life. It’ll be an honest insight into things like settling into a new job, working a job you don’t like, relationships in the workplace etc.

I’m not on some big career journey trying to break into the creative/entertainment industry. I’m just a young woman in my 20s trying to find my way and find my why, I suppose.

I love to shop and I love to share products from smaller brands and even more so black businesses. But I’m also interested in shopping habits and consumerism. So this section will be full of mini hauls and brands I buy from alongside shopping tips, building your ideal closet etc.

This section is inspired by magazine editorials. I’m using it as a space to be creative in a different kind of way. I’ll be expressing my interest in fashion that I’ve had from a young age but often gets pushed aside due to work/uni and poor time management I guess.

But I love fashion, creative expression and it’s ability to totally move people. And even though to some it’s shallow, I’m happy to offer something even if it’s just a photo of a pink snakeskin mini bag.

I’ve been blogging for years and I love to write about the things I’ve seen, experienced and learnt along the way. I’m not any sort of expert but I’m a thinker, I think.

I’m intrigued by blogging and social media and for so many it’s an integral part of our lives. I’ll be sharing thoughts and practical advice/tips.

I’m planning to post weekly every Sunday but between full-time work, part-time uni, my other daily blog, writing poetry, reading and trying to get back into art and sewing, I make no promises.

So if you don’t find me here, I’ll be on instagram or maybe twitter @wordsbygemm
